The New York Mets officially announced Friday the hiring of Carlos Beltran to be the team's new manager.
Beltran is no stranger to the team, as he was an All-Star outfielder with the Mets from 2005-2011, before being traded to the San Francisco Giants before the trading deadline.
Jeff Wilpon, COO of the Mets, said in a statement, “Congratulations to Carlos. We are thrilled, as we know our passionate fans will be, to have him back in the family. Thanks to Brodie & the entire baseball operations staff on this expansive, diverse & collaborative managerial search process.”
A press conference is scheduled for 11 AM Monday, November 5th.
