President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on his second trip to North America since the war began in Ukraine. In the United States, he visited the United Nations for the General Assembly on Sept. 18-19, before moving north to Canada. In Canada, he met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau before giving a speech to a joint session of Parliament. “It is genocide, what Russian occupiers are doing to Ukraine,” Mr. Zelensky said. “It is not just about an ordinary conflict. It is about saving lives of millions of people.” Canada has been a large supporter of the Ukrainian effort since the war began.

In October 2020, the United States government filed a lawsuit against Google for “illegally maintaining its dominance in search.” The trial began on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and will set the precedent for how countries can deal with big tech. However, this is not the only lawsuit that big tech company is facing. In January, the U.S. government filed a second lawsuit against Google, claiming “that the company ‘corrupted legitimate competition’ in the advertising technology market.” The company also faces a pair of lawsuits from Texas. The state accuses Google of abusing monopolies in digital advertising and tracking their residents' locations despite the residents disabling the feature.

On Saturday, Sept. 16, Long Island University’s football program traveled to Waco, Texas, for a week-four matchup against Baylor University. With 1:20 left in the second quarter, LIU quarterback Chris Howell made a 35-yard-pass down the sideline that took the world by storm. A tweet from user Colton Denning, stating, “Long Island Quarterback Chris Howell has the greatest throwing motion I’ve ever seen,” went viral with nearly 15 thousand likes and two thousand reposts. To Howell, this is nothing new. “It was funny because I’ve been hearing it my whole life, so it didn’t make me mad or anything,” the 17-year-old told The Athletic earlier this week. LIU is back in Brookeville this week and will take on Duquesne University on Saturday afternoon.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's Divorce Gets Messy

Sophie Turner has filed a lawsuit against Joe Jonas for the return of their children. The lawsuit claims that Joe Jonas is refusing to turn over the children's passports so Sophie Turner can take them back to England. Jonas filed for divorce from Turner earlier this month, however, the lawsuit states Turner “found about the divorce when the media did.” Turner and Jonas agreed to make England their permanent home so the children could attend school there. Now that Jonas has filed for divorce, his version of their agreement seems to have changed. The petition was filed after Jonas allegedly refused to let the children go with their mother, which " is a breach of the Mother’s rights of custody under English law, England being the children’s habitual residence."
